TRENDING: MARBLE, MARBLE, EVERYWHERE!

One of my favorite things that is trending in weddings and events right now is MARBLE. I wanted to create a romantic and intimate setting inspired by marble.

LETS START WITH THE INVITATIONS

One of the things that I LOVE about marble is the different texture and the swirls of grey within the white.
Darby of Darby Cards was able to create these gorgeous paper products that matched the marble chargers and played well with our romantic theme.

I matched the vision of the paper products with marble name plates. These are easily found at your local hardware store and are easy to create on your own.

The grey in the marble paired well with the white and grey modern plates, complimented by the black hemstitch napkins and smoke grey stemless glassware.

I love mixing the modern and farm house style. They may seem like complete opposites, but they create something beautiful together.
I used a dark wood farm table paired with a grey wash antique chair from Liberty Party Rental. These items are more farm house style, while the table setting is full of modern touches.

The dark farm table was the perfect backdrop for pops of gold and copper. Most people say that you can't mix different metals, but I love the look of mixing colors. The sleek gold silver ware paired well with the copper vases and Ashley Walters with Forget Me Not Designs blew it out of the park with the modern stone vases full of orchids.

BE BOLD WITH COLOR

In fashion and design floral patterns are everywhere, and nothing pairs better then a good watercolor to go along with the look!

Ever since this fabulous linen, from BBJ linen, was released, I have been dreaming of a colorful and bold table design.

When using a table cloth with many different bold colors, I like to pick a napkin color that compliments the linen. This Raspberry Majestic Napkin was the perfect compliment. Napkins do not have to be folded properly, why not tie them in a knot!

This is the perfect table design for a private dinner, girls lunch, wedding, etc. I love creating designs that could be used for all different types of events!

4TH OF JULY

Treat your family and friends to a 4th of july celebration

I love hosting my family and friends for every holiday and treating them to a playful set up. 4th of July is all about having fun in the sun, but if the rain comes falling, don't let it ruin your day and have an inside back up plan!

When I think of 4th of July, I think of red, white, and blue, paper plates and sparklers.

One of my favorite things to create is a fun cocktail. I made a strawberry white sangria to play off of the red, white, an blue theme and of course had to serve the cocktail with a fun american flag straw and fabulous napkin.

No party is complete without a favor and dessert. Tiffany with Baked in Nashville is fabulous and created these fun splatter paint red, white, and blue macaroons as a tasty treat.

PAIGE + WILL

RAIN RAIN GO AWAY!

SUNDAY, APRIL 23, 2017

As a planner and designer there are so many items that I can control before or during your event, however, the one major item I have no control over is the rain.
On Sunday, April 23rd, the storms lasted all day and the one thing the bride wanted more than anything was to get married outside. I have learned to always have a plan B and even a C and D if necessary. We were prepared to have the ceremony outside and under the reception tent if need be.
The rain kept coming down until 30 minutes before the ceremony, this gave us enough time to wipe down the chairs, get guests seated and send the wedding party down the aisle. Paige, took a deep breath and wasn't going to let the dark clouds stop her from walking toward her future with Will.
As soon as the couple was pronounced Mr. and Mrs. and the guest made their way to the reception tent, the rain started to pour again.
We could not have asked for a more perfect moment and Paige and Will did not let the rain ruin their gorgeous wedding!

Will is an Officer for the Army Infantry and Paige is a Hair and Makeup Artist. Their goal for their wedding was just for their guests to have fun and enjoy their time together.

The inspiration for the design came from the colors and feel of the vineyard. The couple loves the wine from Arrington Vineyards, so when it came to picking a venue, this was the easy part.

Guests relaxed with a Nashville BBQ dinner buffet a custom dessert bar and music to satisfy all generations.

Then Create anticipation with your save the date

Just because you say fringe and tassel doesn't mean that a you actually have to tie some fringe or hole punch a tassel into your paper products.
Darby Cards created the perfect save the date and stationary design to go with this trending theme.

The Ceremony

Once you've created the anticipation and your guests arrive, the first jaw dropping event is the ceremony.
Incorporate fringe and tassel in your ceremony backdrop and/or down the aisle, on the end of your chairs.

Or incorporate a large whimsical dream catcher as your ceremony backdrop from the Big Fake Wedding in Los Angeles.
And if you are loving the macrame fringe and tassels these are a great add for the back of your bride and grooms chairs.

Make sure to continue this theme throughout your event, by including tassel napkin rings and complete your send off with ribbon wands.

MODERN LODGE WEDDING STYLE SHOOT

MODERN LODGE WEDDING STYLE SHOOT

The Vanderbilt Legends Club provides the perfect set up for brides desiring both an outdoor and indoor environment for their wedding event. The North Terrace gives an all-natural backdrop, overlooking the club’s expansive 36-hole golf course. Little needs to be done to further its beauty! The North Terrace is covered by an awning at all times, giving brides reassurance that their outdoor ceremony will be beautiful in all weather conditions.  Equipped with both fans and heaters, wedding guests will be dry and warm in the case of rain as well as shaded on a hot  summer evening! After a perfect outdoor ceremony, guests file directly into the stunning dining area, a perfect combination of casual and elegant with its high, wood-beamed ceilings, chandeliers and stone fireplace.

J.J. Pair, the Catering and Events Manager at the Vanderbilt Legends Club, is every bride and vendor’s dream. She is available and accommodating, she does whatever she can to help make the vision a reality, and she is simply a joy to work with.

Leah Kutil, designer at Elle Event Style, orchestrated a beautiful, Modern Lodge styled shoot. While keeping the natural beauty of the Vanderbilt Legends Club, vendors came together to add a modern, geometric flare. Tied together, the style is perfect for accomplishing the simple elegance that every bride hopes for and every guest swoons over.

Liberty Party Rental provided their simple, white Panama linens, beautiful copper chargers and Moscow Mule mugs. Topped with sleek, modern china from Classic Party Rental, the table settings are sure to draw the eye of every guest upon entering the room. Classic also provided two types of chairs- a geometric, gold back for the sweetheart table—their Fanfare Chair- Two tone gold—and sleek, wooden chairs to accent the guest tables—their Café Espresso Tuscan Chairs.

Ashley Walters, Forget Me Not Designs, used a combination of Blushing bride protea, astilbe, astrantia, and dahlias in ivory, blush and green that provided a unique texture for a stunning bridal bouquet. Beautiful greenery lined the fireplace and provided stunning centerpieces for the table-scapes. The long table runner woven with geometric candle stands was a beautiful parallel to the centerpiece of the Sweetheart table-a wreath, adorned with a rose gold lantern. These lanterns can be seen throughout the room and in the ceremony—the perfect highlight for a modern lodge theme.

Laura Jenkins, L.ELIZABETH PASTRY, went above and beyond, providing a dessert bar full of YUM. The cake, a marble finish with Gold splashes sat atop a cake stand made of antlers. Surrounding the cake were treats of all sorts— cake gems, a modern spin on cake pops, a crowd favorite; sugar cookies, decorated with geometric lines in blush and ivory; macaroons of all sorts; and delicious meringues. The Dessert Bar is sure to be a crowd favorite.

Darby Locklear, owner and designer of DarbyCards, topped off the reception details with beautiful paper goods. An intimate “thank you” note lined the china of each table setting—the perfect solution for a menu substitution. Darby’s designs were the definition of simple elegance, bringing together modern and lodge through symmetry and antler accents. The “Save the Date” and invitation tied in beautifully, as well.

The Bride, Kylie Halperin, wore a modern, Carol Hannah designed gown, provided by Amy with Fabulous Frocks of Nashville. The gown was absolutely stunning on the model and to photograph.

Kylie’s hair, a loose, elegant up-do by Brienna Drnec of The Upper Room Salon, tied in a PARIS by Debra Moreland headpiece and a veil by Toni Federici to add a bit of flare to a simple gown. The headpiece and simple veil were provided by The Bride Room. Her make-up, beautifully accentuating her features in a natural way, was done by Caley Caldwell, Caley Caldwell MUA.

Tim Halperin, Groom, and Max Pair, Ring Bearer, both looked dashing in Street Tuxedo's Black Slim-Fit Tuxedo by Ike Behar. The “Jackson” fit is crafted with a unique and luxurious Italian wool. This one-button tuxedo features a peak lapel, side vents and besom pockets, with coordinating trim fit pants and Dusty Rose accessories.

All together, this group of fabulous vendors were able to create a beautiful styled shoot that provides inspiration for a Fall or Spring Bride. This Modern Lodge style is sure to please!
